Transportation is responsible for two-thirds of America's oil dependence and nearly a third of our global warming pollution. We can curb our dependence on oil, help stop global warming, improve air quality, and put people to work in good, green jobs by making transit, rail and better biking and walking cornerstones of our transportation system

Environment America's Transportation Advocate will work to advance federal policies to promote clean, efficient transportation choices. The Environment America federal advocacy office in Washington, DC represents Environment America in federal policy matters. Our organization's roots at the state level give Environment America a unique "outside the beltway" perspective on the issues, while our state staff, members, and national field organizers provide the grassroots power necessary to enact change at the federal level.

• Fundraising: Meeting with large donors and writing grant proposals and to bring more resources to our efforts to promote clean, efficient transportation choices.
