Overview: Stantec's Environmental Remediation group is dedicated to helping our clients reduce their environmental liabilities by developing comprehensive remediation programs. We provide integrated, multidisciplinary services to identify and assess liabilities and risks, and to develop solutions to site management, remediation, and mitigation. Our team members work on a variety of projects, including environmental monitoring, in-situ/ex-situ remedial design and implementation, human health and ecological risk assessments, air quality permitting and reporting, pipeline compliance, stormwater permitting and planning, and audit support services. Our structure cultivates career growth and provides opportunities as unique as you are. Responsibilities: This position is for an entry level civil/environmental engineer. Candidate will be responsible for a variety of field and office-related tasks. Field tasks may include logging of soil borings and test pits, monitoring well installations, soil sampling, geotechnical borings, groundwater sampling, and the supervision of subcontractors (drilling, surveying, remediation, geophysical, etc.). Candidate will assist in the preparation and implementation of health & safety plans, field sampling plans and remedial action plans. Office-related tasks will include assisting with data reduction, data tabulation, data evaluation and report preparation. WOrk to include SUperfund and State site remediation deisign, industrial wastewater treatment evlauation and design, operation and maintenance, and associated reporting and permitting. May assist project managers with specific tasks in designing, planning and estimating costs of projects.The position will require supporting field projects primarily in the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, but travel to other states may be required periodically. Qualifications: The candidate should have a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering, with a preference for a Masters degree. The candidate will have between 0 and 3 years of professional experience in environmental consulting. The candidate will have a valid US drivers license and will be proficient in commonly used software (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with commercially available software for data analysis a plus (e.g., aquifer test, fate and transport models). |
