Job Description: 

The Program Assistant will provide support to the President in the areas of program, policy and administration. Notable candidates for this position will have a background in climate change with strong research and administrative skills.

Responsiblities

* Tracks climate legislation.
* Researches climate change policy and issues and notes program opportunities for the President.
* Keeps daily news watch on climate change, the carbon market, green energy, and environmental initiatives.
* Provides liaison and support to the Board of Directors and board committees: arranges board meetings and conference calls, prepares and distributes meeting materials, organizes and maintains board-related files and mailing lists, and provides other assistance as needed.
* Schedules meetings and appointments, using good judgment in time management and prioritizing.
* Maintains calendars and provides timely reminders of due dates and priority tasks for the President and other senior staff as requested.
* Makes travel arrangements, obtains visas, and prepares travel itineraries and materials for the President and senior staff as requested.
* Assists President with task follow-up and consistent internal communications.
* Organizes and maintains accessible files for projects and issues relating to responsibilities.
* Gathers and organizes information for reports, memos and speeches.
* Assists with other projects related to program management.
* Answers the phones, distributes mail, runs errands, as needed.
* Provides other support and takes initiative to increase effectiveness.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Public Policy, or related field
* Knowledge of climate change issues
* Excellent organizational, writing and editing skills
* Demonstrated ability to juggle responsibilities and exercise independent judgment
* Excellent phone communication skills
* MS Office req., Excel, Word
* Experience with using databases and/or Salesforce a plus
* A passion for the environment and solving our climate crisis
