Our collaborative approach ensures that our clients receive both quality engineering services and strategic guidance in building or re-engineering power facilities for tomorrow's markets.

 

We're currently looking for a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in Oil and Gas Processing Facilities and/or Pipelines and Terminals for our Irvine, California office.



Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for direction of engineering and design work on industrial projects, the engineering administrative function, and directing professional engineers and technical staff.  In addition, the Senior Project Manager will be involved in the continuing development of Stantec's revenue by seeking business opportunities including developing new customer relationships and market development initiatives.

 

Typical Duties:

  • Seek business opportunities by reviewing activities with existing clients, seeking contacts with potential clients and maintaining a network of prospects and provides support and leadership in business development activities. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with existing, new and prospective clients and represents Stantec in client relationships.
  • Leads the development and preparation of proposals, provide overall analyses of owner’s proposed cost and budgetary structures.  Leads the preparation and development of proposal schedules.
  • Coordinates with marketing and account managers, communicates and coordinates activities with other Stantec departments.
  • Responsible for all technical, budgetary and financial components of activities under his/her direction and prepares long range strategic plans.
  • Establishes procedures for proper execution of projects and appropriate standards for quality control.
  • Ensures the plans, schedules and all phases for projects are properly organized.
  • Manages the operating policies and manages programs to accomplish Stantec's objectives.
  • Maintains current knowledge of departmental management practices, directives, programs, standards and administrative procedures.
  • Act as a Project Manager with the responsibility for successful execution of projects and feasibility studies.
  • Supervise the progress of projects and analyze costs vs. schedule vs. quality to identify potential problems and bottlenecks and show initiative to find solutions appropriate to the situation.
  • Manage a projects with minimum direction, advising the client of progress, and ensure its successful, timely and cost-effective conclusion.
  • Provides input to progress reports, project analysis reports, definition reports, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides administrative direction to subordinate managers and senior professionals.  Reviews and evaluates technical work, delegates authority, interprets directives and issues instructions and other guidelines.  Makes organizational changes and decisions on the selection, training, and performance evaluations of senior technical staff.

Exercises management responsibility with respect to selection, appraisal, remuneration and training of staff



Qualifications:

PE or P.Eng. and/or PMP with broad and extensive engineering and administrative experience.  Possess a high degree of innovation, skill and proficiency in the various broad phases of engineering application and knowledge of quality management, human resources, financial and other administrative principles and practices.
