Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Wildlife Biologist to join our Biological Sciences team in Bakersfield, San Diego or Sacramento.
Responsibilities: - Conducting flora and fauna surveys for a variety of species
- Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments.
- Participate in all aspects of the following:
- Proposal and report writing
- Data analysis (e.g. habitat suitability modeling)
- Project management
- Budget control
- Scientific quality control
- Client liaison
Qualifications: - Must be a Qualified Biologist (hold a Bachelor's or a Masters of Science degree in biology from an accredited college).
- Minimum of 5 years directly related consulting experience.
- Candidates should have a solid background in wildlife, taxonomy, and/or botany, and proficient with survey protocols and field project logistics.
- Extensive experience with Wildlife and EIA legislation and regulatory agencies (e.g. CDFG, CEC, USFWS, BLM, ACOE, etc)
- Strong written and verbal skills (Publications must include peer reviewed technical papers and regulatory submissions).
- Current First Aid certification.
- ATV safety certificate.
- Willing to work in remote locations.
