Job Description: 

Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy is a 20-year-old land
conservancy dedicated to protecting and stewarding natural lands in Oakland, Macomb,
Genesee, and Lapeer counties. Six Rivers RLC gained its 501 (c) 3 status in 1994. The
organization operates from its offices in north Oakland County in Oakland Township.
Job Summary: Serve as the main point-of-contact and project lead with private and
public landowners for purposes of identifying and protecting natural areas in the Six
Rivers RLC service area. The Land Protection Specialist will work on both fee title and
conservation easement projects. Position is negotiable from 75% time to full-time for the
right candidate.
Primary Duties:
1. Foster relationships with public and private landowners interested in permanent
land protection.
2. Prepare all baseline documentation for land projects.
3. Work with Conservancy attorney to draft, revise, finalize, and record conservation
easements and fee title transactions.
4. Serve as conservancy liaison in key partnership with municipalities, NGOs, and
state and federal agencies.
5. Work with Executive Director and Stewardship Director to develop landowner
outreach communication materials.
6. Participate in grant writing for land acquisition opportunities.
7. Manage budgets as assigned.
8. Grant writing as assigned.

5. Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
6. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in natural resources, land use planning, public policy, social
sciences, environmental policy, project management or related field required.
Master's degree a plus.
• Five or more years experience in land protection and/or outreach, with firsthand
experience working with conservation easements and fee title transactions. Real
estate due diligence experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; GIS software experience a plus.
• Valid, insurable driver's license and record.
