We collaborate on developing innovative solutions for complex projects in the areas of advanced water and wastewater process design, water supply, conveyance, pumping, and storage.

 

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Junior Engineer / Engineer-in-training with municipal water/wastewater and experience in our Denver, Colorado office.



Responsibilities:

As the successful candidate, you will use your technical abilities to plan, analyze and design wastewater collection, water distribution and stormwater management systems and facilities primarily in the municipal market sector.  Depending on the assignment, you will report directly to a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager and will have primarily infrastructure planning, analysis and design responsibilities.  Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Performing detailed studies, modeling and design tasks associated with municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems and related facilities;
  • Preparation of plans and specifications for water, wastewater and stormwater facilities:
  • Coordinating with engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner; 
  • Meeting with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions;
  • Following the process for obtaining approvals from various agencies;
  • Researching issues related to wastewater, stormwater and water resources that impact individual projects;
  • Writing reports and design briefs to document analyses; and
  • Coordinating presentation and design drawings, in either a GIS or AutoCAD environment.


Qualifications:
  • You have a Bachelors (minimum) Degree of Science in Civil Engineering and are a registered Engineer in Training in Colorado.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in engineering analysis and design of water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management facilities. 
  • You posses strong AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D skills.
  • You possess a strong working knowledge of various hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software platforms used in the planning and design of infrastructure. 
  • A strong knowledge of municipal design requirements will be an asset. 
  • Your ability to work in a team environment, with minimal supervision, is desirable. 
  • Ideally, you are a self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 
  • You have a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none.
  • You have a valid Colorado drivers license.
