Product sales include ecommerce with installations including solar water heating, pool heating and photovoltaic technologies for high end residential and commercial clients. Offices located in Bradenton Florida. Products are shipped from multiple locations to US and worldwide locations. Solar Direct is currently seeking a winner and proven leader to join our team as Sales Manager. The position requires the ability to effectively develop and direct a winning sales team to achieve sales goals and targets. Previous experience in developing sales processes including CRM management, sales support and implementation of sales tools to increase overall sales productivity and accountability is vital to your success. This hands-on role will allow you to work with your team and clients on renewable energy solutions and green investment opportunities, where compensation is dependent on increasing company revenues and profits through team management and business development. Individual should be green minded, committed to environmental change.  Must be a self-starter, motivated, fast learner, and have good verbal and written communication skills in a sales situation.  Specific knowledge of solar and other renewable energy technologies a strong plus; be familiar and capable of bidding on construction related sales opportunities and have at least 3-5 years experience in building a successful sales team producing a minimum 5 million in annual sales.  Knowledge of computers, Windows, Word, Internet Explorer, Excel and Outlook is a must: CAD a plus.

 

Primary Function:

 

The Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for the development, management and performance of the Sales Department for the ecommerce and contracting (installation and service) business segments. Staff and direct a sales team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with Solar Directs vision, objectives and values. Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base and contribute to the development of training and educational programs for clients and Product Solution Specialist (PSS) sales team.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Management and development of PSS sales team
  • Liaison between sales team, management team and customers
  • Business plan & sales strategy development and implementation
  • Customer Relation Management (CRM)
  • Administrative duties 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on sales and marketing
  • Additional preferred degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

 

Training:

 

  • Sales and marketing seminars and workshops
  • Solar and renewable product application, installation, and service workshops
  • Sales or Sales Management
  • Experience with a demonstrated track record – minimum four years in one or more: Solar or Renewable Energy (or related field – HVAC, Plumbing, Energy, etc) Residential home improvement Commercial, institutional, government or agricultural Architectural or engineering

 

 

Certifications:

 

 

  • NABCEP Sales Certificate plus one or more industry training certifications (FSEC, SEI, etc)
  • Sales or Sales Management certifications (Dale Carnegie, CSE, etc)

 

 

Product Knowledge:

 

 

  • Proficient level with major product lines – solar photovoltaic & solar thermal applications
  • General level of complete product line

 

 

Professional Qualifications

 

 

  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Work together as a team to grow company and each team member.
  • Outgoing personality and the ability to relate well with others.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbally and written.
  • Ability to create sales proposals and presentations.
