This position maintains overall responsibility for operations and strategy for the ReStore retail and Deconstruction Services including achieving our mission while creating and maintaining an operating surplus and meeting aggressive growth targets. Position Responsibilities include the following:
(Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs) Take lead in planning, budgeting and implementation of sustainable growth to achieve long-term success Recruit/hire/train/supervise/motivate staff of 12-20 employees including up to 2 ass't managers, Deconstruction Supervisor, store and deconstruction staff Perform hands-on day-to-day operations (material handling, customer service, sales, inventory, opening and closing, truck driving, deconstruction) Provide financial and performance accountability and reporting. Review and approve all invoices and purchase orders and submit to fiscal department Manage policy and procedure documentation, orientation and training Responsible to maintain safe conditions for employees and the public and ensure regulatory compliance Oversee proper maintenance and improvements of all buildings, equipment, vehicles and tools ReStore
Oversee ReStore experience including: customer service, retail experience, merchandising and layout Oversee daily store operations, successful implementation of and compliance with store policies and procedures, and educational/mission-driven initiatives Perform all store duties including sales, stocking and display, inventory, unloading trucks, driving forklift, operating pallet jack, driving box truck, opening and closing Manage staff levels and problem-solve daily schedule changes to meet operational needs and budget Oversee move and set up of operations in new facility including store fixtures, equipment, and inventory Oversee design, implementation and management of CRM/Inventory/Donation Tracking software system Formulate pricing policies on merchandising according to requirements for profitability of retail operations Encourage, assist, and train employees to become a motivated sales force Oversee planning and implementation of additional locations in the future as warranted Deconstruction
Work with Deconstruction Supervisor maintaining and overseeing deconstruction bids and negotiates new bids Coordinate scheduling staff, equipment, facility and truck resources between store and deconstruction jobs Inspect property under deconstruction on a regular basis when possible to ensure the work conforms to specifications, budget and schedule and initiates any adjustment of working procedures Interpret specifications and company policies to subordinates and/or contractors and enforces safety regulations Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED - College degree preferred Minimum 5 years home improvement retail experience Minimum 5 years deconstruction/construction experience Minimum 2 years supervisory management experience in home improvement retail Minimum 2 years experience in managing cash business Minimum 2 years contractor services management experience Minimum 2 years computer experience with word processing, spreadsheet and databases; preferably in Microsoft Word/Excel In-depth knowledge of value and use of home improvement materials Management style - hands-on, friendly, flexible, motivational, high-achieving Ability to switch tasks quickly and often Experience with CRM and inventory software Excellent communication skills Strong commitment to non-profit community mission of the ReStore Community involvement Work-style - professional, hard-work ethic, flexible, entrepreneurial, works well with others Excellent driving record, valid MA drivers license Physically able to lift heavy objects (75 pounds) on a regular and repeated basis; move freely (including twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, etc.) to perform job duties; and operate pallet jack, dolly, forklift and other moving equipment Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Truck driving experience preferred This is a full-time salaried (45 hours per week) position with wages commensurate with experience and generous benefits including health insurance, paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, and sick leave.
