Job Description: 

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), the nation's leading conservation service organization for young people, is seeking a Program Manager for SCA's Conservation Corps Fire Program located in Boise, ID. The Program Manager will oversee 5 - 8 Corps teams at various sites throughout the country.

Duties Include:

Program development and implementation
Training
Intern selection and field staff hiring
Evaluation & reporting
Risk assessment and management
Budget management
Logistical coordination
Provide support and assistance on environmental education
Intern management, incident response
Agency relations
Qualifications:

BA/BS in Forestry, Fire Ecology/Science, Environmental Education/Science, Natural Resource Management, or other related natural resources field required.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible program/project management experience preferably in an outdoor setting.
Supervisory/leadership experience with young adults highly desirable
Must have external partnership building experience; agency relations or environmental field networking experience desired;
Budget oversight experience required.
Current WFR and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
Experience with Microsoft Office XP
Proven organizational skills, time management, and public speaking skills.
Willingness to travel by air on a regular basis regionally and nationally.
Valid driver's license and MVR that meets SCA's guidelines.
Must pass SCA criminal background check.
Experience with fire prevention, monitoring, management of ecology; GIS & GPS familiarity; or S212 chainsaw certified a plus
