We have an immediate opening in our Calgary office for an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our Environmental Services team.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage a wide range of hydrogeology programs
  • Develop and implement work programs
  • Ensure the completion of projects within schedule and budget to the high level of standards expected by our clients
  • Design and conduct environmental assessments including:
    • Drilling and soil sampling programs,
    • Conduct groundwater monitoring and sampling,
    • Perform slug and pumping tests,
    • Interpretation of analytical laboratory results,
    • Analyze and interpret the collected environmental data and write technical reports.
  • Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice to work on projects in Alberta and across Western Canada
  • Mentor junior hydrogeologists
  • Help the Environmental Services team to identify new project opportunities and assist with proposal preparation and technical reports
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of five years related experience in the areas of physical hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater supply development, and groundwater resource management, ideally consulting experience in Alberta and Western Canada.
  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or geosciences, which includes a specific focus in the areas of physical and contaminant hydrogeology; a Master's level degree is considered to be an asset.
  • Experience with numerical groundwater flow and transport modeling is considered an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Practical ability to problem solve in various sectors particularly in the oil and gas and commercial/industrial settings.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGGA is a requirement for this position.
  • Strong business development, client management, communication, and financial management skills are essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork and mentorship skills.
