The Energy Efficiency Specialist will work primarily in the field, visiting customers to evaluate their energy systems, to identify appropriate upgrades and to sell the owners or managers on the benefits of the recommended measures. There are two available openings for this position and these positions will serve the county of San Mateo. Responsibilities • Approach and build relationships with prospective business participants Required Skills The Specialist must have demonstrable experience of the following: Desired Skills • Small/medium commercial energy efficiency audit or installation Education/Training • BA/BS or five years experience in a professional setting. Work Environment Generally, the work environment is in the field with minimal time in the office. A personal vehicle is required and mileage will be reimbursed as per federal guidelines. Compensation The compensation for this position consists of a base salary of $34,000 to $55,000 annually, an additional 5% quarterly performance payment, and monthly incentive compensation based on kilowatt hours saved. This monthly incentive compensation is targeted at $15,000 per year with no cap In addition to cash compensation, Ecology Action offers a generous benefit package that includes flexible health benefits provided through a cafeteria plan and a 401k retirement plan with immediate vesting of the 4% employer contribution.
