About ACE
ACE::Alliance for Climate Education ACE is a national nonprofit dedicated to educating America's
high school students about the science behind climate change and inspiring them to do something
about it-while having fun along the way. While based in Oakland, CA ACE has satellite offices in:
Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York, Providence,
and Boston
Our trained ACE educators visit high schools around the country to give students the scientific skinny
on climate change through our fun & festive multimedia presentation. After the assembly, we help
students secure grant money and start Action Teams to take on projects in their community and
school to lower their emissions and raise their voice.

Title: Lead Educator - CHICAGO
Description: ACE is looking for a dynamic, energetic individual to deliver our multimedia
presentations on climate change to high school students in Chicago and the surrounding area. Be
sure to check out our trailer to get a sense of our presentation. As an educator, you'll be in the
trenches with high school students. The core responsibility of this job will be communicating the
essential science of climate change, through our presentation, in a fun and memorable way.
As a Lead educator you will be responsible for managing a small team of educators, building
partnerships with schools and likeminded Chicago nonprofits, ensuring ACE follow-up programs are
implemented effectively and supporting the branding of our Chicago-area regional program. Given
this, we are seeking a strong manager that can support the development and progression of our
Chicago Team, while being able to effectively manage and implement multiple tasks simultaneously,
including but not limited to: scheduling assemblies, ensuring effective implementation and delivery of
presentation, nurturing and developing partnerships, creating open lines of communication with
headquarters, and coordinating PR efforts.
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills-dynamic, engaging personality
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking, detail oriented, self-motivated
• 3-5 years experience managing other team members
• Ability to develop cogent work plans, manage and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Comfortable taking a leadership role in a small collaborative team environment
• Takes pleasure in enabling and supporting others to be effective in their work
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and iWork
• Solid understanding of global climate change and the youth environmental movement,
including environmental justice issues, climate policy, and/or youth advocacy issues
• Ability to manage a variety of team members and projects ensuring clear and constant
communication while working from a home office
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in theatre or other forms of performance art
• Teaching experience or other experience working with high school age students
• Familiarity with the Chicago area school systems and local NGO community
• Experience working with diverse communities
• Public relations experience
• Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
Schedule: This is full-time position, 40 hours per week
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
