Job Description: 

This position oversees the Residential Conservation Services Field Operations Department. This position ensures that energy audits and air sealing work in the RCS program are performed to meet the expectations of our utility clients. The position involves working on improving CET's practices to increase cost-effectiveness, quality of work, customer satisfaction, and level of energy efficiency achieved. As a senior level management position at CET, it involves budgeting, hiring, supervision of staff, and input into strategic plans. This position reports to the Director of Energy Efficiency and Green Building Programs.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure that energy audits are performed per the requirements of our utility clients
* Ensure that air sealing is performed per the requirements of our utility clients
* Assign job responsibilities and write job descriptions for RCS Field Staff and revise as needed
* Determine when changes in the number of RCS Field Staff are needed and propose new positions or elimination of positions to Director of Energy Efficiency and Green Building Programs
* Coach a team of RCS Field Supervisors to help them manage their staff effectively, including enforcement of CET policies and protocols
* Ensure RCS Field Staff are properly trained, equipped, and supported to complete their job responsibilities
* Ensure that all Energy Advisors earn and maintain BPI certification
* Provide input into RCS budgets and work to keep field operation costs within the budget
* Work with other managers to propose and implement changes to CET's practices that will increase RCS revenue and decrease RCS expenses, increase the level of energy savings achieved and improve the quality and professionalism of audit, air sealing, and weatherization work being performed at customer homes
* Foster a positive and productive work environment for the RCS Field Operations department
* Ensure that problems or confusion created at audits or air sealing jobs are dealt with in a timely fashion
* Develop and maintain new methods for employee performance evaluation and feedback
* Ensure that good performance is recognized and poor performance is corrected or eliminated among field staff
* Determine ongoing incentive payments to field staff based on performance
* Revise and maintain the Field Staff Protocols
* Make recommendations for changes to Contractor Installation Standards
* Ensure Field Staff equipment, tools, and supplies are provided as needed to complete RCS work and make changes to improve energy savings, cost-effectiveness, and quality
* Ensure that CET field operations are performed in a safe and professional manner

Qualifications:

* College degree or 5-7 years of related experience in management, energy efficiency, customer service or construction
* Minimum 3 years experience in home construction / renovation / energy efficiency
* Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
* Minimum 2 years customer service experience
* Must meet all qualifications of Energy Advisor position
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Excellent project management skills
* Excellent trouble-shooting skills
* Excellent computer skills
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests
* Good math skills including geometry
* Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, on ladders, and carry loads (involves ability to work in hot and cold temperatures, good balance, and ability to crawl and kneel for extended periods of time)
* Valid MA driver's license and good driving record
* Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy
* Access to a reliable vehicle and ability to transport equipment
* Passion for the environment and community involvement

This position is a salaried position with benefits. It is a full-time position with an expected number of hours approximately 45 per week. Work on some weekends and evenings will be required. Travel throughout Western Massachusetts is necessary. Some work from home will be expected.
