Job Description: 

Are you interested in working with high school aged youth to make a difference in National Forests around Boise? Do you have experience in managing groups of people to accomplish a common goal? Have you worked with agency partners to identify and complete service projects? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then the 2010 Boise Program Coordinator position may be for you.

Spend 5 months working with SCA in Boise this spring and summer as a Program Coordinator. SCA's Boise community crews will run for 10 weeks. Crews are made up of seven High School students, who are recruited from area schools to work on restoration and trail projects on National Forest land.

Primary Responsibilities:
Work in Boise, ID to recruit and enroll students, plan environmental education trips for crews, plan community service projects, assist with crew leader training and graduation ceremonies, and coordinate conservation projects with partner parks. Disseminate recruiting materials and perform administrative tasks and data entry. Throughout the summer maintain written and visual records of crew accomplishments. Supervise 4 adult crew leaders throughout the summer. Maintain program equipment and tools. Complete program reports and evaluation. When needed, work with and/or lead students on crews in the field.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 21 years of age
* Previous Project Management experience
* Proven ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
* Willingness to travel
* Ability to see projects through to completion
* Microsoft computer skills
* written and verbal communication skills
* Previous experience with youth is a plus
* Environmental education and trail work skills
* CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain. WFA or WFR preferred
* Valid driver's license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
* Ability to meet SCA's criminal background check standards

Salary: ($575-$625/week DOE). Position will be based in SCA's Boise field office. Position will be half-time April-May and full time June-August. Weekly pay will be adjusted based on schedule.
