The Cascades Climate Challenge Program brings high school students from Oregon and Washington to spend three weeks in the North Cascades learning about conservation, energy, climate change and stewardship. Students will explore the North Cascades ecosystem in detail, allowing the young leaders to connect with the area and see the effects of climate change firsthand. They will also complete service projects and talk to resource managers, gathering information to become leaders in community education. Students will spend time at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center as well as car camping, canoe camping and hiking. There will be two, 21-day Cascades Climate Challenge sessions over the course of the summer, with 20 students per session. Program dates are June 29 - July 19 and July 28 - Aug 17, 2010.
