The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, a regional conservation organization that has protected over 228,000 acres in its 77 years, seeks an experienced professional to manage its land protection program. The Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the department including: staff, budget, project tracking and reporting, and fundraising. This position takes a lead role in achieving the Conservancy's goal of increasing the scope and scale of land conservation in western Pennsylvania, including leading the implementation of a new revolving loan fund for local land trusts. The director works closely with the Associate Vice President of Land Conservation and Stewardship to set the strategic direction of the organization's land protection efforts. The director will be responsible for ensuring that all land protection projects are completed in adherence with organizational quality standards and meet Land Trust Alliance Standards and Practices. The director, along with stewardship staff, senior management and the board of directors, will lead the Conservancy in seeking land trust accreditation. This is an excellent career opportunity for a seasoned land conservation professional. Minimum 4-6 years experience in land trust or real estate related field. A bachelors degree or higher in natural resource management, law, business administration or other related field. In-depth familiarity with principles of land conservation, land acquisition, real estate, conservation easements and real estate due diligence issues. A leader who is highly organized and an effective communicator with demonstrable management experience. Experience managing multiple land conservation staff, along with management in tracking multiple projects toward execution, is preferred.
