The project manager reviews all jobs soon after the contract is signed. They are responsible for resolving any technical issues before, during and after the sale.
- Acts as primary point of contact and liaison between customer and Solar Technologies.
- Works directly with sales people to support new accounts in a seamless transition from prospect to very satisfied customer. Works with sales team to identify and resolve any technical issues before, during, and after the sale
- Manages multiple concurrent customer projects throughout their entire implementation life cycle, including project scope, engineering, and installation.
- Sets expectations and goals, due dates and deliverables, to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Oversees the work of any sub-contracted installs.
- Manages hired subcontractors of other trades. Works with other contractors/ roofers during all phases of new construction to integrate solar into the new building envelope.
- Prepares installers with all information necessary to complete installation. Creates crew packages for install crew
- Answers technical questions from the install team, sales team, engineering, project management, inventory, and clients
- Works with engineering to relay all technical/ design issues that need to be incorporated into the permit plan set.
- May make field visits to job sites during construction to ensure jobs are being built correctly and to high standards and at an appropriate pace
- Assesses what techniques/ materials will used to complete a job
- Works with install team to develop solutions to any issues that arise during installation.
- Research and develop new products and material that will be used to improve install quality and cost
- Communicates with sales, inventory, finance, and marketing departments regarding upcoming installations
- Initiates and approves purchase orders.
- Maintain current database of jobs
Qualifications:
- Understanding of current national and local electrical, and relevant building codes
- Understanding of how to apply these codes to building high quality code compliant PV and solar thermal systems
- Familiar with a variety of solar PV concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of PV racking systems for both roof-mounted and ground mount systems.
- General construction knowledge especially electrical and roof
- Ability to read, understand, and edit electrical and structural plans.
