Vaillant Solar Systems is currently looking for a strong Business Development Manager. VSSI is the subsidiary of the German based Vaillant Group, founded in 1874. The Vaillant Group is an established market leader in the European HVAC industry, boasting over 3.4 billion (USD) in annual sales and over 12,000 employees strong.
We are looking for a self-driven, motivated visionary to create business success in the solar industry. The Business Development Manager will assume responsibility for generating sales of commercial solar systems and developing strong partnerships with installers; develop and advance VSSI's sales initiatives and maintain customer relationships while identifying target opportunities for the company.
Ideally this candidate will have full knowledge and experience in the solar industry and the ability to develop business throughout the Los Angeles region. This experienced professional must present strong leadership skills with the discipline to assist the company in business development, marketing and referrals; have working knowledge of solar products and installation procedures and have proven experience growing other businesses.
Responsibilities:
Serve as primary client liaison within designated territory Develop strong partnerships with key channel partners, must have the ability to create strategic partnerships with local and state business leaders, government officials, etc. Manage the development of business opportunities by working with the CEO and other executive management to develop the client base and execute sales plans Focus on the wide-range of opportunities for the growth of the solar market in the Los Angeles area and develop plans to target and expand company's growth based on these opportunities Solicit new business opportunities and follow-through with sales Develop and leverage marketing programs to gain new accounts and develop a strong preference for VSSI in the marketplace Drive opportunities in conjunction with partners and support team to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue objectives.
Requirements: Significant experience in sales and business development Proven track record of quickly building a business with a low level of supervision Excellent negotiation and closing skills Strong analytical skill set and strategic mindset Ability to effectively interface with clients in various industries Engage individuals on every level (receptionist to CEO) Experience with developing and implementing innovative business strategies Very strong process and program management skills Proven communication, presentation and negotiation skills Be highly energetic and self-motivated and be comfortable working in a start-up environment Team player, with a 'whatever it takes' attitude
Ideal Candidate Previous experience in the solar industry including extensive experience working with commercial, governmental, utility and/or residential clients. Basic technical understanding of Solar products; familiarity with renewable energy and climate technology and policy.
