VP Solar Design & Project Management Summary: We are seeking a team member with solar project development expertise as a System Designer and Project Manager to accelerate the growth of our company. The candidate must live in the New York area or be willing to relocate. She or he must have at least 2 years experience designing commercial-scale solar photovoltaic systems. This is NOT an entry-level position. Only those with substantial experience in the photovoltaic field need apply.
As part of the senior management team, the VP of Solar Design and Project Management will play a critical role in the development of Just Energy's systems design and engineering platform, as well as be responsible for designing, engineering and implementing large-scale scale (100kW+) commercial solar PV systems. Experience working through all aspects of solar photovoltaic system engineering is required, including hands-on performance of: solar site assessments and feasibility analysis, making cost-effective technology selections, developing electrical and structural system designs and drawings, overseeing the permitting, incentives and interconnection processes, performance testing, inspection and certification, and ongoing maintenance and operation. The candidate will be responsible for establishing and overseeing a top-tier engineering team. He/She will liaise closely with the business development team and finance team to develop highly customized and cost effective solar solutions. The candidate will also play an active role in building strategic relationships with manufacturers and integrators. Considerable experience and creativity are required, as well as the ability and maturity to manage growth within a fast-paced, start-up environment.
