Stantec has multi-discipline engineers with professional registration in Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil/Structural engineering. Our staff also includes engineers and designers/drafters with chemical/process, fire protection, instrumentation, control systems, programming and systems integration capabilities.

 

Stantec provides our clients a wide range of services, including feasibility studies, site selection, conceptual plans for new or expanded plant facilities, detailed design, construction management, scheduling, procurement assistance, regulatory permitting issues and construction management.

We  currently have the need for  Mechanical Engineers who ha ve a minimum of  five years  power and industrial process experience to work in our Walnut Creek, CA office as well as travel to Alaska for field assignments .

 



Responsibilities:
  • Prepares design calculations used in the discipline.
  • Coor dinates design issues with C lient s  and   C onstruction  Contractors .    
  • Prepares plant layouts and detailed design models and/or construction drawings.
  • Prepares major portions of design models.
  • Review s and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned.
  • Lead s the technical work of less experienced designers and/or CAD operators who share in the design effort.


  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering  .
  • Engineering In Training (EIT) certification required. California Professional Engineer license, preferred.
  • At least 5 years experience in design, engineering, and preparation of construction packages of mechanical process systems, such as ASME piping, pumps, compressors, boilers, and process equipment for oil and power industries.  
  • Can prepare bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.
  • Can demonstrate teamwork while working with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate plant space utilization.
  • Skill in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the disciplines design responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline.
  • Knowledge of mathematical formulas and design calculations used in the discipline.
