The Missouri Coalition for the Environment (MCE) seeks an full-time Clean Energy Coordinator for Renew Missouri. In 2007, MCE launched Renew Missouri to promote strong renewable energy and efficiency policy in Missouri. Renew Missouri advocates for effective renewable energy and efficiency by activating the public, raising awareness in the media, and educating Missouri elected officials and other policy makers. The Clean Energy Coordinator will help implement the 2010 Renew Missouri program. The Coordinator will work closely with Renew Missouri Directors and with coalition partners across the state. The Clean Energy Coordinator is a full-time position. The position will be based in Columbia, Missouri. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate for the Clean Energy Coordinator position has a bachelor's or master's degree in public policy, environmental science, or a related field. He or she demonstrates skills in written and verbal communication, successful cause-centered organizing, project management, policy analysis, and familiarity with renewable energy and energy efficiency policy. Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, goal-setting, effective team work, initiative, creativity, patience, and dedication to energy policy reform in Missouri are required. The ideal candidate possesses excellent networking skills, is well organized, and has experience working in collaborative efforts. The Coordinator will be required to travel to Jefferson City, St. Louis, and to other parts of the state on a regular basis. Responsibilities Education and Outreach * Facilitate education campaign for public officials including policy workshops and in-person meetings on renewable energy and energy efficiency topics. Media and Communications * Implement media strategy to elevate clean energy and efficiency message. Policy Analysis * Gain awareness of best-case state-level energy efficiency and renewable energy policy. Compensation The salary range is $28,000-$32,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The Coalition offers a flexible work environment with health benefits. The ideal candidate would be available to start by January 11th.
