Job Description: 

Join a leading not-for-profit implementation partner for the City of Chicago Climate Action Plan providing sustainability services. Specific tasks include conducting energy, water, life cycle and carbon footprint assessments and supporting clients in implementation projects.

Development, Building Retrofit, Carbon Management and Life Cycle Analysis, Materials Reuse and By-product
Synergy.

The basis of our sustainability strategy and carbon management services is our depth of experience in
translating what is possible, to fully operational practices for our clients, their investors and governmental
stakeholders. Our client's vision, goals and challenges are CMC's guiding principles as a not-for-profit
management consulting firm measuring its value for sustainable regional economic development. The City
of Chicago has selected CMC as an implementation partner for their Chicago Climate Action Plan industrial
sector strategies.

Description:

Working in a cross-functional team environment, you will provide technical leadership for our suite of
environmental and sustainability services. You will work as part of a team of lean and green manufacturing
and business development professionals assisting manufacturing firms and service organizations to
implement sustainability strategy and operational improvements. You will discover client needs, develop
client proposals and directly assist clients to establish best practices to manage their sustainability goals.
You will assist clients in the development of impact measurement processes to validate and continuously
improve their sustainability practices.

Specific tasks include conducting energy, water, life cycle and carbon footprint assessments and supporting
clients in implementation projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in technical field with a minimum of 5 years experience in environmental science,
engineering, or related field. Masters degree is strongly preferred.

Management consulting or environmental management experience with working knowledge of climate
change issues.

Advanced understanding of manufacturing operations and the impact of environmental regulatory and
quality requirements.

In-depth experience in at least one environmental sub-field is required such as: carbon accounting, life
cycle assessment, or sustainable materials and related waste management.

Ability to communicate the business and economic implications of sustainability, climate change, and
carbon/GHG emissions.

Experience in performing Carbon/GHG Footprint analysis and using CLCA software (such as GaBi 4)
Working knowledge of the various emerging life cycle databases.

Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and present in industrial,
environmental, technical and or public policy forums.

Ability to write business briefs, present findings and manage projects while working on multiple
assignments.

Excellent team building, problem solving, written and presentation skills and aptitude for qualitative and
analytical thinking.
