Founded in 1994, the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the health of coral reefs by focusing on fundamental catalysts for change: well-managed marine protected areas (MPAs), sustainable marine tourism, and engagement from local community members. We currently work in nine endangered coral reef locations around the world to facilitate partnerships between local communities, government leaders, and marine recreation providers that support the health of coral reefs. We are grateful to the CORAL community of committed donors who are generous with the time, financial support, and inspiration that makes our work possible. Led by a passionate team and experts in the field, and guided by a committed board, CORAL partners with other leading organizations and critical stakeholder groups in reef destinations, including resource managers, the private sector, and local communities. Following our well-respected and successful Coral Reef Sustainable Destination (CRSD) approach to conservation, we engage on the local level to make international impacts. |
