Stantec’s Geotechnical Engineering group provides comprehensive geotechnical services to our clients, ranging from field explorations and laboratory testing to the design and construction management of complex geotechnical structures. This is where great people and great ideas truly make a difference. Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer - Intermediate to join our team in the Sydney, NS Office.



Responsibilities:

 

As a Geotechnical Engineer- Intermediate your responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: 

  • Managing multiple projects.
  • Working on a variety of small to large projects spanning from residential, commercial and industrial developments.
  • Client management and business development.
  • Geotechnical engineering evaluation and assessment of various developments and providing recommendations to address applicable issues,  such as: foundation design, slope stability, soil improvements and others.

 



Qualifications:

 

 As the successful candidate, you will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university and a post graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering would be an asset.
  • Professional Engineer in good standing with APENS, or the ability to obtain the professional designation within six months from the date of hire.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in geotechnical consulting.
  • Strong client management experience.
  • A self starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment.
