Working closely with our clients, our dedicated professionals help to establish and understand the specific needs of a range of building projects. Responsibilities:

 

Stantec's Red Deer office has an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer.  Our Red Deer office team has over 130 people supporting our clients locally and across Canada. You are an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail. This is a dynamic work environment where you will play a pivotal role in a diverse range of building projects, from initial planning to design to construction.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Design of electrical systems including:
    • Power distribution, generators, lighting, structured data cabling, fire alarm, communications, security, energy management;
    • Electrical equipment control design for commercial, industrial, institutional, public and private facilities.
  • Providing technical support to the project managers.
  • Supervision and leadership of more junior design staff.


Qualifications:

The successful candidate should possess a certificate in electrical engineering from a technical college or an Engineering Degree from a University, and be eligible for registration with the local Engineering Technologist Association or Professional Engineering Association.

  • Minimum 10 years experience in Electrical Design.
  • Previous experience with engineering software applications such as ETAP, AGI 32 and other tools will be a definite asset.
  • A working knowledge of the basic Microsoft office program will be beneficial in this role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong attention to detail are essential.
  • Specialists in the fields of lighting, electromagnetic interference (EMI), power protection systems, IT communications and audio visual/multi-media technologies will also be considered.

Located in Central Alberta, the Red Deer office has a vibrant environment with excellent opportunities for professional growth. Red Deer is a family oriented community of approximately 85,000 residents with recreational facilities, park system and a variety of schools. Red Deer is within 1 ½ hours of Alberta's two largest cities of Calgary and Edmonton.
