Job Description:    Overview:

Stantec, a full-service environmental services firm, is seeking a entry-level engineer to join our Environmental Management Group in the Northeast US. Our Environmental Management Group is dedicated to managing environmental issues proactively and professionally. We are looking for an entry-level engineer with a strong interest in fisheries restoration and aquatic ecosystems to augment our current staff of professional specialists in surface water hydrology and hydraulics, wetland science, habitat restoration, wildlife and fisheries biology, and regulatory permitting.  Expected work is focused on developing and implementing projects involving freshwater and estuarine restoration, with emphases on dam removal and fish passage. We focus on hiring exceptionally talented, enthusiastic, and hard working individuals who have a keen interest in the natural sciences and working in a team based environment.



Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will work with an experienced and dedicated team on fisheries habitat restoration projects.  Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD is necessary.

 

This position is a future need for Stantec , we  will be reviewing resumes and contacting qualified candidates the month of July/August 2010.



Qualifications:

This position requires a BS or MS degree in civil or environmental engineering, a good understanding of mathematics and engineering mechanics.  A documented personal interest in fisheries and rivers is required, and may consist of time spent fishing.  Fly fishers are encouraged to apply for this position.  Relevant experience in surface water hydrology and hydraulics is preferred but not required. Excellent writing skills are mandatory.
