Overview: Stantec's Sacramento office is looking for a Northern California Transportation Practice Leader. This individual will lead a full service transportation practice that includes environmental, planning, design, program and construction management expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of transportation modes with both public and private clients. We are seeking a service oriented, collaborative leader who has the technical credentials and people skills to help us provide outstanding results for our clients. Our Transportation Group provides comprehensive environmental, planning, design, engineering, program and construction management services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects. Responsibilities: • Develop the strategic business plan for the group • Recruit and hire key staff • Direct and mentor staff • Proactively engage in career pathing with the staff • Act as client liaison • Provide the team with the tools they need to mobilize and execute projects • Handle contract negotiations and assure adherence to contract terms • Act as the Principal-in-Charge or Project Director on our projects • Oversee the financial health of the practice • Act as liaison with outside agencies and utilities • Develop new business
Qualifications: • 15 to 20 years engineering and construction experience • CA PE preferred • Major project/program management experience • 10 to 15 years increasingly responsible professional highway, transit (light, heavy and commuter rail) and facilities experience • Planning, design and construction management experience desirable • Engineering or related degree preferred • Highway, bridge, and related Caltrans experience desirable • Relationships with major transit and transportation agencies is desired • Proven / verifiable leadership skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Positive can-do attitude • Successful track record • Strong professional references
